NOTE: This design will be retired very soon!
Baltimore Quilt Album blocks were the inspiration for this wedding sampler. They are appliqued and then quilted, which is truly beautiful. They vary according to the quilt maker. This is my adaptation of one of the many Baltimore Quilt Album blocks.
This design could be used to make a sampler as shown, a ring bearer pillow or any of the several "Be Creative" ideas included in the chart.
DESIGN SIZE: 200 X 200 stitches
FABRIC: 36 ct Cream Linen
NOTE: You can adapt the size of the finished piece, by changing the count of the linen used. AIDA may also be used.
FLOSS: DMC 221, 223, 224, 225, 500, 502, 3721, 3722, 3813, 5200 (or any very white floss)
NOTE: DMC #500 was used for ALL backstitching, except the "stems" in the large flowers as noted in chart.
Feel free to change the colors as desired--just be sure you have color tones in the same family so the "gingham" fabric look will show in the finished piece.
Correction: in the instructions it says "Backstitch stems on large flowers (heavy lines) in heart shaped wreath---DMC 3813 or ANC 875" THIS IS CORRECT, but may need extra explanation--after regular cross stitching is completed, backstitch the stems (they look like arrows on the chart) over the top of your cross stitching. This is supposed to look like very small pieces of fabric when complete. Also, some customers can not locate DMC 5200, it is a very white, white, so simply select any very white color of floss.
