Artist Statement: This sampler is an adaptation from a Celtic saying. The Scottish people have a tradition of planting a tree in the "garden" of their home. This is a tradition I feel we should all keep. Planting a tree to bring shelter and peace to our lives.

BE CREATIVE
**Stitch for a gift for a new home--yours or someone you love--by changing the EST (Established) date to the year the home was built or the first year you lived there.
**One of my customers stitched this sampler as a gift for a new home and gave it along with a tree to plant! I loved this idea!
**Stitch for a special anniversary
**Stitch small individual designs of flowers, butterflies or birds for insets on tops of boxes or repeat designs on banding to use as curtain tiebacks. Use beads in place of stitches for flowers.

**Stitch with silk floss to make this last forever! You have family history!
